Technics Orchestration Concept
Exquisite music experience backed by decades of innovation
This system brings together numerous technologies — for speakers, amplifiers, and signal processing — that Technics has perfected over many years. In the SC-CX700, Technics has created a single integrated solution that faithfully reproduces music and other sounds in great detail.
Technology for ideal integration
Acoustic Solitude Construction optimises amplifier and speaker performance
The amplifier box and speaker enclosure have been separated within a single integrated unit while keeping the size compact. Vibration is one of the major causes of sound quality degradation in amplifiers. If the board with the amplifier circuit is inside the speaker enclosure, the back pressure and vibration from the speaker would affect sound quality. Acoustic Solitude Construction separates the amplifier box from the speaker enclosure. The structural separation prevents the transmission of vibrations and optimises the performance of both.
Ideal speaker control by MBDC (Model Based Diaphragm Control)
The SC-CX700 is equipped with MBDC (Model Based Diaphragm Control) that adjusts the diaphragm’s movement in real-time for low-range reproduction. Using a simulation of the movement of the speaker diaphragm, MBDC generates signals for adjustment to reduce harmonic distortion in the low range. This eliminates distortion in the high- and midrange caused by harmonic distortion in the low-range, achieving superb sound separation with low distortion.
Speaker Technology
1 Phase Precision Driver 4
Newly developed coaxial 2-way speakers use point sound source and linear phase equalization to direct sound from the ring tweeter for better spatial expression.
2 Ring Tweeter
This new coaxial speaker has a lightweight ring tweeter that rises quickly and converges instantaneously, enabling faithful reproduction of the source sound.
3 Linear Phase Equalizer
Linear Phase Equalizer based on acoustic analysis for optimal sound from the ring tweeter, achieving natural expansion in the sound.
4 Smooth Flow Diaphragm
The tweeter, woofer diaphragm, edge, and baffle surface are all connected smoothly, reducing sound wave turbulence, for clear mid and high range performance.
5 Smooth Flow Port
The front bass reflex port design, based on fluid analysis, reduces noise, creates responsive low-frequency reproduction, and allows for flexible placement.
6 Balanced Driver Mounting Architecture
The speaker unit is stabilized by being fixed at its center of gravity, realizing crisp, welldefined performance and a threedimensional sound field.
7 Flare position based on CAE
The bass reflex port opening in the cabinet is positioned using CAE sound analysis, enabling dynamic and rich mid-low range without sound-absorbing materials.
Amp Technology
JENO Engine
The SC-CX700 is equipped with the JENO Engine, a high-precision fully digital amplifier from Technics. It resolves problems in digital processing, such as degradation of precise timing caused by jittering, and minimises degradation of sound quality during the conversion of multibit signals into 1 bit PWM signals. Utilizing the JENO Engine in each individual speaker also reduces disturbance effects in audio signal transmission between the left and right speakers, ensuring a match in the sound quality characteristics of the speakers to realize high-quality stereo reproduction.
Circuit Construction
A separated structure has been created on the base board to realize high S/N and clear separation. The power supply section that handles significant power, the digital signal processing section that handles high-speed signals, and the amplifier section are each separated from one another. The power supply section is also shielded to further prevent interference between the sections
Twin Power Supply Circuit System
To reduce mutual interference between the amplifier handling significant power and the sensitive small signal circuits, the SC-CX700 utilises the Twin Power Supply Circuit System. This supplies power from two separate transformers for the two separate circuits. Furthermore, each circuit and power supply are connected using the shortest possible distance while also being positioned separate from one another to ensure minimal noise in the system.
High Quality Analog Circuit
To achieve high-quality analogue reproduction, film capacitors and other components equivalent to those used in higher-end models are employed throughout the analogue input circuit. Sound quality has been tuned without compromise.
